![]() ![]() ![]() Keep in mind that Infinity not only helps your mages do more effective damage (they are doing viable damage in Hell even without conviction aura, level 44) and the "crushing blow" from infinity makes your boss runs/uber a lot easier and faster. Pride, like many have said, it has no enhanced damage and the freezes target is summoner's worst nightmare, especially you're relying on your merc to get the first few corpse. Infinity/Might Merc + Insight Golem for Summoners is the best combo in my opinon. She can stand with you behind the skele line and get you those first corpses for CE.Re: Insight Iron Golem + Infinity Merc = good idea? If the iron golem goes poof and you get frustrated trying to keep an a2 merc alive, another thing to consider with the next patch will be the possibility of an a1 merc with an Insight bow. Otherwise I might run a nice eth elite Insight on the merc. My amplify damage plus the conviction aura's reduction in mobs' fire resistance helps my Fishymancer's CE so he can farm p3 almost like it's p1. I think after Battle Command from my CtA, the merc screen shows 8k damage. It's the highest damage-dealing setup I have for a merc. My merc has an eth Infinity CA, Fortitude, and a Ral'd andy's. I wish there was a way to give them the Oak Sage AI, which isn't perfect, but he'd at least kinda stand to the side just giving me mana instead of running in and doing jack shit. You are a fishymancer, right? Maxed skeletons and skeleton mastery, alongside Corpse Explosion? Iron golems just never attack often enough or have enough attack rating to consider them damage-dealers. I don't think it's what you're asking about.) (I think the builds where you might put points into Iron Golem were for using a necro as a bot to do pindle runs, or something like that. Maxing iron golem does not carry benefits for Insight, where you are actually avoiding him tanking or even attacking much. I'm pretty sure I maxed golem mastery and then added points blood golem. (Maybe people only made them from those runewords when duping was prevalent.) It doesn't happen super constantly but imo it's definitely worth keeping your cost at the "Insight" level with a non-eth normal (meaning, not exceptional or elite) polearm, so nowhere near the Beast/Pride/Infinity level. I did this and the main problem is the iron golem going poof due to a bug. ![]()
